Official Rules & Regulations

2013 Minnesota State Youth Bumper Bowling Championships

 

 

Eligibility - This competition is open to any child that is 5 - 8 years old as of April 1, 2013. There will be eight divisions, based on a

competitorís gender and his/her age as of April 1, 2013.  A competitor must be 5 Ė 8 years old ON April 1, 2013 to be eligible to  

compete in this event. The eight divisions are: 5 Year Old Boys; 5 Year Old Girls;  6 Year Old Boys; 6 Year Old Girls; 7 Year Old Boys;

7 Year Old Girls;  8 Year Old Boys; and 8 Year Old Girls. Competitors need not have any previous experience bowling to enter this

event. Competitors need not be a member of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) nor be a member of any bowling league or

club. The tournament director(s) reserves the right to request to see a birth certificate of  any competitor. Failure to produce a birth       

certificate could result in disqualification without entry fee refund.

 

Location & Dates - All competition for this event will take place at Ham Lake Lanes in Ham Lake, MN on their synthetic lanes between

April 6 and April 28, 2013. Ham Lakes Lanes is located at 16465 Highway 65 NE in Ham Lake, MN. The phone number is                  

763-434-6010. The website is www.hamlakelanes.com.

 

Entry Fee & Deadlines- The entry fee is $10.00 per competitor per entry. Competitors in all 8 divisions will get 3 games of bowling,

use of a bowling ball, and use of bowling shoes (for each entry). Entry fees are non-refundable. Multiple entries by the same child are

allowed. Entries should be postmarked by April 1, 2013. Walk-in entries may be accepted if openings are available. The tournament

director reserves the right to extend the tournament by one weekend if sufficient demand for entries exists.

 

Competition - A competitorís total of his/her 3 games of bowling will determine a competitorís total score. (e.g. If a bowler bowls a 90,

a 100, and 110 then her total score is 300). The competitor with the highest total score in his/her division will finish in first place. The

competitor with  the second highest total score in his/her division will finish in second place, and so on. Competitors shall not use a ramp

or get any assistance from another person when bowling in the competition. Competitors shall not cross the foul line during or after     

delivery of a ball. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a competitor taking a 0 for any ball where an infraction occurs.

 

Awards For Top Placers - A minimum of 1 in 10 competitors in each division will win a gift card for Target stores. The top placer in

each division will win a $100 gift card to Target stores. The value of other gift cards will be based on the number of entries in each

division. The top five placers in each division will win a trophy.

 

Awards For Honor Scores  - Competitors in the 5 year old divisions that bowl a game score of 95 or higher will win a honor score      

trophy. Competitors in the 6 year old divisions that bowl a game score of 105 or higher will win a honor score trophy.            

Competitors in the 7 year old divisions that bowl a game score of 115 or higher will win a honor score trophy. Competitors in the

8 year old divisions that bowl a game score of 125 or higher will win a honor score trophy. A competitor may only win one honor

score award during the 2013 State Championships.

 

Miscellaneous - Target Corporation is not affiliated with this event in any way.

 

Governing Body - The 2013 Minnesota State Youth Bumper Bowling Championships is an event of Community Charities of

Minnesota. The tournament directors for this event are Jim Dahlin and Josh Hodney. Any matters not covered by these rules will be
